Tripadvisor.com We stopped her for a few nights to relax and chill out and I found the nice, quiet little Villas perfect for that. Nice tropical feel when you sit out on your private deck surrounded by the palm trees. We enjoyed sitting out there in the late afternoon with a cool drink to relax and do a bit of parrot spotting. I loved the swimming pool with the island in the middle which was a great place to relax and cool off. The rooms were clean and comfortable and I especially liked the fact that you had your own separate villa and deck area. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were serviced daily. We had our own vehicle, so it was a quick trip into town for us. Hubby also like the fact the the golf course was just about at the back door! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would be more than happy to come back again next time we visit the NT. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a nice to place to relax and who wants value for money. Tripadvisor.com We stayed three nights at this accommodation while touring Australia on family vacation. Upon arrival I was quite impressed with the number of epic palm trees which is a stand out feature for this resort. At check in we were assisted by a very friendly attendant who was fast and efficient. All of our needs were met by her during our stay. Unfortunately there was another attendant who hardly acknowledged our presence during check in and again the next morning. The rooms themselves are situated in clean, private cabins and feature a single bed, double bed and bunk bed. The bunk beds are ideal for kids and the cozy blankets provide ultra warmth. We found the narrow bathrooms to be awkward to maneuver in however. More than 4 adults per room would be pushing it. During our stay, the resort was running at full capacity yet it was unusually quiet. The desert palms resort amenities include a laundry building ($3/load), gift shop, instant coffee/tea, dishes and cutlery, television, wifi Internet ($6/hr) and a wicked outdoor pool. There is also a free shuttle service to the local veterans memorial club where we got the best value for money on our drinks and dinner. Getting into town is at least ten minutes by foot which isn't bad. We did a 2 day tour of Uluru and King's Canyon and the resort locked up our belongings in the reception building while we were gone. Most tours offer free pickup and drop off through the resort which is ideal. Although the Central Australia guide book rates this resort a 3 star and the resort sign advertises it a 3 and a half, I would rate it a 4 star. Tripadvisor.com We stayed 2 nights at Desert Palms and the staff were friendly and helpful.The rooms are as they look on the website. Not overly large but they had all that we needed. The queen bed was comfortable and there were two singles as well. The bathroom was clean, the kitchen area was small but had everything we needed. The porch at the front of the villa had a couple of chairs and a table, and with the trees and shrubs around it was a pleasand place to have a cold drink at the end of the hot day.The pool area was surrounded by palms and there was a gazebo on the centre island. The whole area was quiet despite the villas being close together. It was a bit far from the main shopping area but if you've got a car it's no problem. The casino was a 5 minutes walk down the road. We rented a car and made the Desert Palms our base for exploring the "Outback" and couldn't have been more pleased. No bugs, A/C when needed, a great patio, good service and cold beer. This was truly paradise for us. Proximity to Casino is handy. Left here for Melbourne, Surfer's Paradise then Bondi Beach. Should have stayed at the Desert Palms & drank more beer. A total "step out of character" and "let your hair down experience". The best vacation in our lives.
